Treatments
Sports Massage
Sports Massage uses a variety of pressure, often deeper, more intense and focused in order to target specific muscles. Here at The Mews Clinic we utilise Sports Massage in order to read the body, allowing us to indentify any areas where the soft tissue or muscle is weaker.
From this, we can then implement a plan to strengthen these areas. We build YOU into a stronger you.
Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound Therapy is achieved via eletrical waves generated through piezoelectric effect. These are created by the vibration of crystals within the head of the Ultrasound probe.
These Ultrasound waves pass through the skin and cause a vibration of the local soft tissues known as cavitation. This cavitation enables a deep heating within the tissue promoting healing and muscle relaxation.
Manipulative Therapy
Spinal and Peripherial manipulative therapy is a system of diagnosis and treatment based on the theory that many disorders can be traced to the incorrect alignment of bones with consequent malfunctioning of nerves and muscles throughout the body.
This treatment involves a passive technique where a specific directed manual thrust is applied to a joint, at or near the end of the passive range of motion. This is often accompanied by an audible ‘crack’.
Injury Rehabilitation
Sports Injury Rehabilitation is a multi-disciplinary approach to the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of injuries. Treatment will incorporate therapeutic interventions such as Sports Massage, Ultrasound, Manipulative Therapy and exercise plans.
Each individual plan will be monitored and modified where needed ensuring YOU are ALWAYS progressing.
